Dear blog, I am sorry I have neglected you these past many days. My guilt is accute, I assure you. Right now I hear the hummmmm of Kegan's disc repair kit. Electronic resurrection! MUAHAHAH!!!
So many things have occurred in these last dog days of summer..and I will try and rack my brain and chronicle them faithfully!
Newsbit 1: Miriam gets back Friday at 3:45 PM. Stalkerish, I know, but I miss her and she has a present for me!!! :-)
Newsbit 2: Cassie, the younger horse has an extremely lame leg. After church, we came home to find her laying out in the pasture--the neighbor ran over and told us Cassie had been laying there all day. Her rear right leg is swollen excessively, and it looks like a snakebite. She can barely move on it and is frequently covered in sweat. The vet makes a farm-call here tomorrow. Pray for our pony!!
Newsbit 3: We are done babysitting!!!!!!!! THRILLING!!!
Newsbit 4: School shopping has been sheer magic this year, and the only reason for this is faithful tithe paying. SERIOUSLY. I wasn't going to be able to afford some long sleeve shirts that I wanted, then on a spur of the moment trip to Wal-Greens, we find this bin full of $2 clothes. {Questionable to say the least}. I looked, AND THEY WERE THE TARGET BRAND SHIRTS I WANTED!!!! I loaded up! Every color I wanted and all in my size! Miracle. A few days later at Wal-mart, I needed a belt. I couldn't pick..and at the register I'm still deciding. I hand the cashier the more functional one, and it rings up $1, [previously $10]. Mom and Sage run and grab the other for me to get. Functional & SWEET!
Newsbit 5: I'm registered for school now. My classes are as follows:
1. Videotechnology - movie & commercial making and such.
2. Economics -- Dad's really excited about this one. He wants to borrow my textbook already.
3. AP English 3 --- as in English Literature! [My absolute favorite, can't leave that unsaid]
4. AP Statistics --- No Pre-Cal for me, thank you very much.
5. AP Biology ---- REALLY EXCITED FOR THIS!
6. Sociology ---not sure how I'll like it.
2nd Semester, I'm switching [hopefully] to Banking & Financial Systems second period (Mom really wants ensure I know how to manage my personal financial base successfully. And sixth period will be AP Government.
Newsbit 6: We went to Ichibon's on Kemah Boardwalk a week or so ago. PURE MAGIC! Just watching the kids faces was really really something. It was the first thing we managed to do as a family in so long, in which nobody threw some sort of earthshattering catatonic fit! Even Sterling loved it! The food was delightful, and our chef [who was Mexican, at the Japanese restaurant] was the best in the house. He flipped the knives round and round, offered Forrest a try [thinking Forrest would be hesitant or scared] and laughed heartily when Forrest jumped up and wanted to try. The girls had Hibache chicken, the boys had steak, I had shrimp; and when the chef saw that everyone wanted some, he brought out another helping. He was really a fun guy--threw an emptied egg at Forrest, to which Forrest freaked when it broke on him..only to find it was part of the gag..and he did that whole yarn-in-ketchup bottle thing on me. Got me good he did. Shot out, looked like ketchup and everything.
Because we were celebrating Forrest's baptism [which should be in a Newsbit all its own], we celebrated kind of like a birthday. Everybody sang Happy Birthday for him, and he got a free helping of fried ice cream, to go with the ice cream he already had. Really, really special.
We went to the boardwalk after, just to look around [I had never really been down there myself before]. We watched the catfish being fed, ran (really, we skipped) through the misty-cool-down spot, watched the boats come in and out and just had a great time.
The way home was one of the best, with everybody backup singing "The Ultimate Showdown" with Sterling. Dad kept asking when the Chuck Norris part was supposed to come up.
Newsbit um...lost count--- A new favorite thing is attaching the trailer to the lawnmower, letting Forrest drive down the road on my lap, with everyone in tow and harmonizing The Cider Song.
The Cutest Boy...
The Cutest Girl...
I ever saw...
I ever saw...
Was sipping ciderrrr...
Was sipping ciderrr....
Through a straw!!!
And so forth. :-]
Well, I must go..I have to call VistaPrint.. Becca's shirt came in I ordered..the one about Twilight...it just came in and says its for Samantha, who goes to Carthage Pentacostal Church.
Dunno.
Now, I know our ventures sound corny---but it's all a part of a blissful thing I love to claim as my life.
Holy cow...I don't think they had all those classes when I was there. AP statistics??? seriously? so cool how fast things change. Sounds like you and your family had an awesome time (I think there is just something about big families having corny ventures...but I definitely think they're the best!). So awesome! Love you!
